July 2014 Sketch Challenge at Blue Fern Studios

Another month and another great sketch challenge by the Blue Fern Studios. I love their sketches and whenever I find enough time to create a project I take part in their challenges. This is my take on their sketch this month. I used two older collections from Webster's Pages that I've had in my stash for a few years but all the same with very beautiful papers. They are Garden Gala and Hollywood Vogue. The BFS chipboard pieces I used are from 'The Optimist Set' and the 'Brigitte Butterfly Set'. I only used one half of the biggest butterfly in the set which was cut in two. I put some Diamond Stickles on the chipboard pieces and then brushed over with white acrylic paint.

Here is the sketch:

and the layout:

'Delightful'
As you can see there are a lot of gorgeous Prima flowers, the pink heart trim from Webster's Pages, some laces from my stash, wooden embellishments, fussycut elements from different papers, black Prima pearls in different sizes, some doilies, word stickers from WP, the Snow Cap Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber from Ranger, etc. I used the white acrylic paint for the chipboard pieces, the flowers and I painted the edges of the layout with it. I made my own texture/modelling paste from a recipe I found on Gabrielle Pollacco's blog together with the Crafters Workshop mini bricks template which I used to create the background of the layout.

November Sketch Challenge at Blue Fern Studios

This is my layout for the November sketch challenge at BFS. I decided to make a Christmas layout because the sketch and the piece of chipboard featured in the sketch (the branch) were just perfect for the page that I had in mind for a while. I didn't follow the sketch exactly as it is. I had to make some changes.

   Here's the sketch:

   The layout:

Magical Moments

I used papers from several Webster's Pages Christmas collections, some Prima flowers, WP perfect accents, a Prima shabby chic resin, other scrapbooking products and of course the Blue Fern Studios piece of chipboard - 'Twiggy Branch':

Twiggy branch

I put some texture paste and white acrylic paint on the chipboard to make it look like there's snow on the branch. Then I added stickles to make it sparkle and glued the little white pieces that look like flower buds (I don't know what they are called). I used the white paint on the flowers and the fussycut elements, too. The red flower is handmade.
The photo is of my son when he was one and a half years old. I like it a lot because he looks so sweet and as if he's holding a little bird in his hands.

My layout for the Blue Fern Studios July Sketch Challenge

Hello, everyone! Today I'm posting the layout I made for the BFS July Sketch Challenge. It's made with the New Beginnings collection from Webster's Pages. It's a beautiful collection and also versatile. I had to make some small changes to the sketch. I also used different chipboard pieces than the ones featured on the sketch. I used the two smaller butterflies from the "Brigitte Butterfly Set" because they went so well with the rest of the page.

   Here's the sketch:

   And here's the layout:

Live, Laugh, Love

I did some fussy cutting (the small butterflies, the leaves and some flowers). I used flowers from Prima Marketing, some small wooden flowers and some rhinestones and Prima pearls. I added some lace that I had in my scrapbook stash.

The chipboard pieces I used are from the "Brigitte Butterfly Set". I just sprayed them with some glimmer mist and glued down one single pearl in the center because I thought they were beautiful just the way they were.

My take on the My Creative Sketches June Sketch Contest

This is the page I made for the MCS June Sketch Challenge. I used the Girl Land paper. I've had this collection paper from Webster's Pages in my stash for a while and I wanted to use it. I had to make changes in the sketch a little bit because of the photo (I mirrored the sketch so everything is on the opposite side). I also put one of the flower clusters at the top of the photo instead at the bottom. Here's the sketch:

I did a lot of fussy cutting and layering. I also used the mini messages stickers from the Girl Land collection. The pink and the purple flower are the Princess Petals from the same collection.

'Always my girl'

   Here are some close-ups:

I added some sparkle to my project with Stickles glitter glue from Ranger.

   Thanks for your visit!
   Bye for now!

My layout for the Blue Fern Studios June Sketch Challenge

This is my take on the BFS June sketch challenge. I used the 'Seasonal Wildflowers' piece of chipboard which I painted with acrylic paints and decorated with rhinestones. I used the Websters Pages 'Sunday Picnic' collection of paper. I had to alter the sketch a little bit because I didn't have the exact piece of chipboard featured on the sketch. Here's the sketch:

Here's the layout:

It's a happy kind of day!

Webster's Pages Let's Celebrate Mini Album

I'm often asked how I make my mini albums or layouts. I'm not sure if this will help but I'm going to try and give a short explanation for those of you who are interested. I'm working on a birthday album for my daughter right now. It's not finished yet but I have some pages done so I'll use them for my brief explanation.
The paper collection I'm using is Webster's Pages Let's Celebrate.

Webster's Pages.

Let's Celebrate trims

What I first do is decide what paper I'm going to use on the cover. Here I chose the paper "Garden Party". I used it on the cover and the first page.

I also used another paper called "You're invited". I cut out some pieces which I then glued on the cover and the first page. I put a piece of the yellow trim on the edge of the page.

"You're invited"

The second page of the album is made with the same paper. I cut out the green rectangular piece saying "JOIN US in celebrating ...." and glued it on the page. I added some fussy cut elements like the balloons, some flowers etc. I finished the second page with some trims - the hot pink put under the journaling element and the purple trim glued on the edge of the page. The final touch was the pink flower from the mini Princess Petals.

  Page three of the album.

Page four of the album is made with the paper called "Wrapping paper".

Wrapping paper".

page 4

"Wrapping paper"

For page five I used the paper "Party Blooms", Webster's Pages bloomers (pink) glued on the edge of the page, a heart pin and some fussy cut pieces from the paper and the journaling cards.

Page six is made with the same paper and the pink bloomer glued on the edge. There are some fussy cut elements tucked behind the photo and the pink cake, a butterfly pin, a piece of a journaling card etc.

My take on MCS November Sketch Contest

This is the sketch for the contest from MCS for the month of November:

and here is my take on the sketch:

"You are my star"

This is the Hollywood Vogue line by Websters Pages. The title is "You are my star". I decided to do this layout at the last moment.
