July 2014 Sketch Challenge at Blue Fern Studios

Another month and another great sketch challenge by the Blue Fern Studios. I love their sketches and whenever I find enough time to create a project I take part in their challenges. This is my take on their sketch this month. I used two older collections from Webster's Pages that I've had in my stash for a few years but all the same with very beautiful papers. They are Garden Gala and Hollywood Vogue. The BFS chipboard pieces I used are from 'The Optimist Set' and the 'Brigitte Butterfly Set'. I only used one half of the biggest butterfly in the set which was cut in two. I put some Diamond Stickles on the chipboard pieces and then brushed over with white acrylic paint.

Here is the sketch:

and the layout:

'Delightful'
As you can see there are a lot of gorgeous Prima flowers, the pink heart trim from Webster's Pages, some laces from my stash, wooden embellishments, fussycut elements from different papers, black Prima pearls in different sizes, some doilies, word stickers from WP, the Snow Cap Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber from Ranger, etc. I used the white acrylic paint for the chipboard pieces, the flowers and I painted the edges of the layout with it. I made my own texture/modelling paste from a recipe I found on Gabrielle Pollacco's blog together with the Crafters Workshop mini bricks template which I used to create the background of the layout.

My Layout for the Blue Fern Studios June Sketch Challenge

This is my layout for the June sketch challenge at BFS. I didn't follow the sketch exactly as it is - I mirrored the sketch and made some changes.

   Here's the sketch:

and the layout:

You Are My Sunshine

I used papers from the Sun Kiss collection from Prima, some Prima flowers, wooden embelishments, other scrapbooking products and of course the Blue Fern Studios piece of chipboard Sunshine from 'The Optimist word set'.

November Sketch Challenge at Blue Fern Studios

This is my layout for the November sketch challenge at BFS. I decided to make a Christmas layout because the sketch and the piece of chipboard featured in the sketch (the branch) were just perfect for the page that I had in mind for a while. I didn't follow the sketch exactly as it is. I had to make some changes.

   Here's the sketch:

   The layout:

Magical Moments

I used papers from several Webster's Pages Christmas collections, some Prima flowers, WP perfect accents, a Prima shabby chic resin, other scrapbooking products and of course the Blue Fern Studios piece of chipboard - 'Twiggy Branch':

Twiggy branch

I put some texture paste and white acrylic paint on the chipboard to make it look like there's snow on the branch. Then I added stickles to make it sparkle and glued the little white pieces that look like flower buds (I don't know what they are called). I used the white paint on the flowers and the fussycut elements, too. The red flower is handmade.
The photo is of my son when he was one and a half years old. I like it a lot because he looks so sweet and as if he's holding a little bird in his hands.

My layout for the Blue Fern Studios July Sketch Challenge

Hello, everyone! Today I'm posting the layout I made for the BFS July Sketch Challenge. It's made with the New Beginnings collection from Webster's Pages. It's a beautiful collection and also versatile. I had to make some small changes to the sketch. I also used different chipboard pieces than the ones featured on the sketch. I used the two smaller butterflies from the "Brigitte Butterfly Set" because they went so well with the rest of the page.

   Here's the sketch:

   And here's the layout:

Live, Laugh, Love

I did some fussy cutting (the small butterflies, the leaves and some flowers). I used flowers from Prima Marketing, some small wooden flowers and some rhinestones and Prima pearls. I added some lace that I had in my scrapbook stash.

The chipboard pieces I used are from the "Brigitte Butterfly Set". I just sprayed them with some glimmer mist and glued down one single pearl in the center because I thought they were beautiful just the way they were.

My layout for the Blue Fern Studios June Sketch Challenge

This is my take on the BFS June sketch challenge. I used the 'Seasonal Wildflowers' piece of chipboard which I painted with acrylic paints and decorated with rhinestones. I used the Websters Pages 'Sunday Picnic' collection of paper. I had to alter the sketch a little bit because I didn't have the exact piece of chipboard featured on the sketch. Here's the sketch:

Here's the layout:

It's a happy kind of day!
